1. Water color: clean water is transparent and colorless. During inspection, white porcelain bowl shall be used to hold water for observation.

2. Smell the smell of water: fill half a bottle of water with a clean small mouthed bottle, cover and shake, and then immediately open the cover to smell the smell. Odorless, which proves that the water is clean.

3. Taste water: Try the taste of water with your tongue. Clean water is tasteless.

4. Measuring water temperature: The water temperature of surface water often changes with the temperature, but the fluctuation range is not large. If the water temperature rises suddenly, it may be polluted.

5. Observation of sediment: sediment is a part of precipitable solid in water. Place the water in a transparent glass bottle and observe after it is left standing. The less sediment, the better water quality.

6. Check the pH value: generally, the pH value of surface water is between 6.5 and 9. When the PH value increases, it indicates that the water is polluted by alkaline substances; When it is reduced, it indicates that the water is polluted by acid substances.

7. Paper test: Drop water on white paper, and the less stains left after drying, the less impurities in the water.
